In order to transform the POTENTIAL ENERGYof ADP into KINETIC ENERGY available to do work, the bonds of ATP must be broken into ADP and an available phosphate group.

As we know that, the stored form of energy is always potential energy. i.e. energy always stored in the form of potential energy in the certain objects or compounds.

In this case ATP also stored its energy as potential energy in the form of high energy PHOSPHATE bond in between the two Phosphoric acid.

When there is need of energy, ATP must be under go break down to form ADP and iP in order to make available their stored potential energy for work by converting the energy into kinetic energy.

Although most of the ATP dependent reaction in our body does not require energy to move some thing (motion) but the energy released from break down of ATP has the ability to move something.

That's why we can say that stored potential energy of ATP get converted into Kinetic energy when it (ATP) get breaks to form ADP & iP
