Question

Thermodynamics

A tank, well insulated, has two parts divided by partition. The first part incuded 3,5 kg of water at 800 kPa while the other part is evacuated. This partition is removed and the water expands to fill the entire tank. If the final pressure and temperature are 100 kPa and 2000C, respectively, please determine

a- The volume of the tank (15p)

b- Temperature of the water for first part (15p)

You have a rigid tank with an uknown volume, it is divided to two parts by a partition. On one side is an ideal gas with a temperature of 910 celcius on the other side is evacuated and has a vol. that is C= 1.5 times the size of the part containing the gas. We then remove the partition and the gas expands to fill the entire tank. We then apply heat to the tank until we get the pressure...
