Cloth hangers are made up of either metal or wood. They are in triangular shape

DIFFERENCE - Flat part takes all the loads of cloth while curved part is used to support it while hanging. Flat part is straight wire and the curved part which is on both sides always tries to balance the straight part. Flat part of the cloth hanger is like a point mass in a simple pendulum which tries to come into equilibrium position when pushed about the pivot.
