Answer #1

Kaplan’s Tri-phasic model of sexual pleasure has three elements such as, desire, excitement, and orgasm. Desire refers to the interest one shows in response to the other to indulge in the sexual act. It is followed by excitement phase because it’s very important to kindle the desire further. The physical parts are the ones that excites one to go further by keeping them bound to the act. Finally, orgasm occurs which ends with a satisfaction of having a meaningful, happy and content sexual pleasure.

Masters and Johnson’s EPOR model has four stages that represents excitement, plateau, orgasm and resolution. Both Tri-phasic and EPOR model has two stages in common, excitement and orgasm. EPOR do not take desire into account because it accounts excitement through various stimuli that increases the desire. Plateau which refers to the foreplay phase that stimulates the organs is placed at the second stage in EPOR which is represented by excitement in Tri-phasic model. EPOR has got a relaxation or multiple orgasm stage as resolution which is not represented in the Tri-phasic model.
