Answer #1

1.Meiosis is the process of chromosomal reduction which mainly take place in sex cells, which produce germ cells for sexual reproduction. Meiosis is the key process of variation, evolution.

2.Sister chromatids are involved in the process of cell division, whereas homologous chromosomes are appear in reproductive division. Sister chromatids are genetically the same. On the other hand, two non-identical copies of a chromosome consists in a pair of homologous chromosomes, one from each parent cell.

Homologous chromosomes Homologous chromosomes Centromere Replication Sister Sister chromatids chromatids

3. By means of crossing over and intermixing of genes from each parents.

This recombination creates genetic diversity , genetic variation.

IVICIOS Segregation (meiosis II) Homologs separate 3) Ol Fy Homologous Sister chromosomes chromatids DNA Replication recombin

4. In mitosis cell division two new cells synthesized from one parental cell but in meiosis cell division four new cells synthesized from one parental cell. In mitosis genetic recombination genetic variation doesn't occur as it synthesized identical cells.
