Answer #1

1. option c is the incorrect one, while a,b, and c comes under the applications of nano technology in food processing.

Nanotechnology is one of the most highly studied and researched innnovative technology, dealing with synthesis, strategy and manipulation of particles structure rabging from 1 to 100 nm in size.

  • Idea of nanoscience - started by physicist Richard feynmann.
  • Has wide application and used in almost all science fields including physics, biology, chemistry, engineering, materials science, medicine etc.
  • Nowadays widely used in food industry also.
  • Some of the applications of nanotechnology in food industry, especially in food processing includes :nano encapsulation of flavors/aromas,gelation and viscosifying agents, nano emulsions, anti caking ,sanitation of equipments .
  • Thus using nanotechnology in food processing industry we can achieve ; high bioavailabilty, improved organo leptic charactersistics,High absorption rate, targetted and controlled release.
  • Other applications inlcude : increasing the flavour, introducing anti bacterial nano particles into food, sensing contamination, increased shelf life, improved food storage,tracking-tracing,brand protection, removes chemicals and pathogens in food.
