Apparent depth = actual depth/n = 139/1.33 + 2.50/1.5 = 108.5 cm = 1.085 m The jelly fish actually 141.5 cm from the front of the glass but appears to be 33 cm closer than the actual Position of the jelly fish 33cm = 0.33 m b)Same Calculation but without the glass thickness 139/1.33 = 104 cm = 1.04 m so the jelly fish appears only 139 - 104 = 35 cm = 0.35 m closer than it actually is c)we see that increasing the thickness increases the value of image distance Hence the jelly fish appears to be farther behind the front surface of the glass
