Answer #1

HIV virus infects the cell containing the CD4 antigen. There is an interaction between gp120 and CD4 molecule on the host cell.  There is also the interaction between CCR5 and CXCR4 receptors which helps the virus to enter the cell. The virus enters the macrophage and the monocytes. The RNA of the virus is trancribed into cDNA molecule and then integrated into the genome of the host cell. After the fusion of the virus into the host cell membrane the HIV genome is uncoated and the virus RNA is reverse trancribed using viral reverse transcriptase which is integrated into genome of the host cell.  The dsDNA is then transcribed into RNA which is then translated into viral protein and is released with the lysis of the host cell.
