It would be great if you can explain these two questions for me to understand in detail!!
Describe and explain the possible effect on your results of the following experiemental errors or variations
(a) You forgot to turn on the light
(b) The reaction flask for part A was wet
I think it would be better if you tell me the experiment you are doing but stil I am providing you an answer.
(a) If you forgot to turn on the light then there will be no radiation so the wavelength of radiation absorbed cannot be recorded. If the wavelength is not known then absorbance cannot be calculated.
(b) If the reaction flask for part A was wet then the reaction will be different because dissolution of gas occurs and the reaction of flask content with the gas may not occur

Describe and explain the possible effect on your results if the following experimental errors or variations occurred. You used pure water as the reaction solvent. You started with 2.5mmol of vanillin and assumed that a 100% excess of NaBH_4 was 5.0 mmol and used that amount. Explain how to differentiate between the IR spectra of vanillin and vanillyl alcohol.
