Answer #1

Given that brown fur and black eyes mice were mated and which results in the litter of new phenotypes such as grey furs and red eyes and the ratio of the litters is 9:3:3:1 ratio.

This result shows that the couple was heterozygous for brown fur and black eye alleles and brown fur is dominant over grey fur allele and the black eye is dominant over red eye allele.

    3) (2 pts) In a certain breed of dog, the dominant, B, is required for black fur; it's recessive, b, produces brown fur. However, the dominant, I, is epistatic to the color locus and can inhibit pigment formation to produce white fur. The recessive allele, i, on the other hand, permits pigment deposition in the fur.
