Answer #1

Abilities are those which bring out the skills in people. It is usually inherited. And skills are a combination of ability and knowledge to do a particular thing. Skills are learned and developed by means of practicing. The ability to do something determines if one has the skill to do the same.

For example, The skill is Cycling and the ability includes the physical strength, mental strength, muscular coordination, etc that enables a person to deploy his skill(cycling). Knowledge and abilities are prerequisites to learn and develop skills.

Skills and abilities are very much important in the job performance. To acquire an ability one has to observe something, then decide to acquire certain qualities, then act. This is how one acquires an ability, any skill learned in this life, in the first place. One can practice or memorize mechanically  without acquiring a skill or ability. You have to be able to observe the actual skill in some way. You have to be able to decide to acquire those exact qualities.
