The CSR pyramid explains why and how an organization should take social responsibility. There are the following levels of the pyramid:

1. Economic level,

2. Legal level,

3. Ethical level, and

4. Philanthropic level.

b.

The levels which are quite essential for ordinary facilities such as restaurants are economical, legal, and ethical. These three are extremely important because unless the restaurant earns the profit but loss, it cannot survive in the market. Secondly, it has to comply with the laws, rules and regulations prevalent in that particular locality where it serves. These laws include the authority to conduct business, meeting food quality standards, and proper hygiene. Third, it should have ethical practices in place. Until and unless customers, employees, and clients are not treated well, the restaurant cannot survive in the long run. Hence, economic, legal, and ethical levels are essential for ordinary facilities such as restaurants.

The same levels of CSR pyramid are applicable to food outlets or small hotels. In case, the hotel is five-star, fourth level that is philanthropic is also important.
