In the synthesis of iodosalicylamide from salicylamide, determine the theoretical yield.
I know I'm supposed to figure out the moles of salicylamide (which I'm not sure if I calculated right at 0.004 mol), but I don't know what to do after that to get the theoretical yield. I included the experimental procedure that lists the amounts of each material to use, as well of which compounds are part of the experiment.

In the synthesis of iodosalicylamide from salicylamide, determine the theoretical yield
Solve for the theoretical yield of this prelab4 (1).png4 (2).pngThis experiment involves three redox reactions. In the first, iodide ion and hypochlorite react in the presence of three protons to form iodine, which is the source of \(\mathrm{I}^{+}\). This leaves some \(\mathrm{I}\) ' behind, which combines with unused \(\mathrm{I}_{2}\) to form \(\mathrm{I}_{3}^{-} . \mathrm{I}_{3}^{-}\) is reduced to water-soluble I by thiosulfate ion, which stops the reaction. The line from the benzene ring connecting to the I means that you do not...
organic chemistry: calculate the theoretical yield in the
production of t-pentyl chloride synthesis (if t-pentyl alcohol is
limiting the rxn)
I think I calculated the first step correct, but I am stuck on
the theoretical yield. please write out all the steps so I can
learn!
1. Report the following data for your t-pentyl chloride synthesis. Show calculations in the space provided. (2.5 points) a) The mass of t-pentyl alcohol used 12.4 grams 10.0m t pentyl alcohol (0.8059) = 12.42gt...
what is my limiting reagent, theoretical yield
calculated from moles , and % yield for the synthesis of banana
oil?
Isoamyl acetate (banana oil) is made by the acid
catalyzed reaction (fischer esterification) between isoamyl alcohol
and acetic acid. sulfuric acid was used as the catalyst for the
fast conversion of product from starting alcohol and acid. the
catalyst only affects the rate of the reaction not the extent of
the reaction.
here is the data from lab:
here is...
What is the theoretical yield of tert-butyl chloride in this experiment? Synthesis of tert-butyl chloride: 25.5 mL of cold HCl and 15.7 mL of t-butyl alcohol in a separatory funnel then the aqueous layer is drained. Then washed with 15 mL of water and aqueous layer is drained again. Then washed with 15 mL of 5% sodium bicarbonate then drain aqueous layer. Lastly, 15 mL of water and drain aqueous layer. Perform distillation and dry out with anhydrous sodium sulfate....

This is a dry lab assessment for synthesis of Nylon 6,6. I
believe I understand how to calculate the limiting reagent (Q1) and
have determined it to be adipic acid. I’m stuck on calculating the
theoretical yield (Q2) and need some help getting through the
bullet points of the procedure used to answer the question.
Thanks!
1. In the experiment, you are instructed to use 0.500 g of adipic acid and 0.40 g of hexamethylenediamine. Calculate the mmol of each...
CH 111 - Introduction to Inorganic and Organic Chemistry Lab 10 - Exp. 341 Synthesis of Strontium lodate In this lab, we will perform a synthesis reaction to generate a desired product. Synthesis reactions are performed in many different industries including fertilizers, plastics, pharmaceuticals and many others. The goal in a synthesis reaction is to generate and obtain as much of the desired product as possible. In this synthesis, the reaction between KIO, (potassium iodate) and Sr(NO3)2 (strontium nitrate) produces...
5. For today's experiment, you will be performing the first step of your multistep synthesis to make trans- 1,2-cyclohexanol from hexanol. You will be using distillation to separate the product of the first step in the synthesis. (see the procedure below for diagrams and photos of what distillation setup looks like. Check the boiling points provided in the chemical table for starting material and product. Which compound boils at a lower boiling point? Explain briefly based on boiling point differences...
