sample mean = 12.2 and sample standard deviation = 5.9393

The null and alternative hypotheses are,

H0 : μ = 10

Ha : μ > 10

Test statistic is,

12.2-10 5.0303- = 0.828

Degrees of freedom = 5 - 1 = 4

p-value = TDIST (0.828, 4, 1) = 0.2271

=> p-value = 0.2271

Question 9) Since, p-value > 0.05, we fail to reject the null hypothesis.

Conclusion : There is not enough evidence to conclude that the mean weight loss is greater than 10 pounds.
