Question

In humans, the allele for black hair (B) is dominant to the allele to brown hair (b), and the allele for curly hair (C) is dominant to the allele for straight hair (c). When a person of unknown genotype is crossed against a straight- and brown-haired individual, the phenotypic 2. ratio is 25% curly black hair 25% straight black hair 25% curly brown hair 25% straight brown hai What is the genotype of the unknown parent? (A) BBCO (B) BbCC (C) bbCc (D) BbCo

Answer #1

As per the question, Straight and brown hair is recessive charecter. So it can denominate as bbcc.

when straight and brown haired individual (bbcc) crossed with curley and black haired individual (BbCc), the phenotypic ratio will be;

25% curley black hair (BbCc)

25% staight black hair (Bbcc)

25% curley brown hair (bbCc)

25% straight brown hair (bbcc)

How it means, From bbcc will get four charecters bc, bc, bc and bc.

From BbCc will get four charecters of BC, Bc, bC, and bc.

when it crosses,

BC Bc bC bc
bc BbCc Bbcc bbCc bbcc
bc BbCc Bbcc bbCc bbcc
bc BbCc Bbcc bbCc bbcc
bc BbCc Bbcc bbCc bbcc
