Answer #1

if you were shooting on a 100mm lens, a shutter speed of 1/100 of a second would be optimal. Camera blur can be eliminated at these speeds, so at the beginning the focal length is 1000 mm. From this data we can find the aperture by:

\frac{1000\;mm}{x } = 32 \Rightarrow x = \frac{1000\;mm}{32} = 31.25\;mm

therefore, our new f-stop number is:

\frac{150\;mm}{ 31.25\;mm} = 4.8 \Rightarrow \boxed{f-stop = \frac f{4.8}}

    1. You are shooting pictures of a football game. Your meter gives you a correct exposure of 1/125 sec at f/5.6. What might be a better setting of shutter speed and aperture combination, if you want to stop the action? (Your lens has the following stops f/2, f/2.8, f/4, f/5.6, f/8, f/11, f/16 and the following speeds 1/15,1/30, 1/60, 1/125, 1/250, 1/500, 1/1000 sec) (5 points) please answer briefly,this is the practice of my physics exam.
