Cephalochordata - They are chordates with all 5 synapomorphies the characteristics all chordates have during the larval or adulthood stages. These synapomorphies are:

  2. dorsal hollow nerve cord,
  3. endostyle,
  4. pharynx, and
  5. post-anal tail.

Vertebrata : They are chordates with all  characteristics as an adult .

vertebrates have the same common features: a notochord, a dorsal hollow nerve cord, pharyngeal slits, and a post-anal tail. Vertebrates are further differentiated from chordates by their vertebral column, which forms when their notochord develops into the column of bony vertebrae separated by discs.
