Answer #1

Using the following equation:

E=mc^{2}

where            E = Energy
                    m = Mass
                    C = Velocity of light (3x108 m/sec)

E=0.067 g\frac{1 kg}{1000g } (3x10^{8}m/s)^{2}=6.03^{12}Joules

    Nuclear power plants convert the energy released in fission reactions to electric energy. Consider one such power plant that generates 1.00 GW of electric power. The fission of each uranium-235 nucleus releases 200 MeV of energy. The power released by the fission reactions is converted to electric power with a 41.0% efficiency.
