Answer #1

Centrifuge method can used for separate of solid from liquid.

In this method SiO2 can be separated from liquid. This process is done by swirling liquid and siO2 in agitator.

Chromatography:- it is a process of separating mixture by distributer of its components betwern 2 phase one being stationary and other by moving phase.

Here sand can be stationary by allowing other phase to move from sand(SiO2).

Distillation:- based on its boiling point sand can be easily separated from volatile liquid

Filteration is always preferred:-

1) This method is less costly then other methods.

2) Filteration method can be easily handle by low skill labours as compared to others.

3) Less energy consuming.

4) Output efficiency is higher than other method.

5) Less installation cost

A simple distillation was performed to separate a mixture containing both hexane and heptane.
