Example of poor design arising out of evolutionary constraint there by restricting organism from evolving naturally under the influence of natural selection is -

Exoskeleton surrounding the body of an insect – Exoskeleton restricts the free movement of organs and muscles and hence allow them to operate with in a confined area but as insect move around its exoskeleton ruptures while in case of endoskeleton surface damage do not affect them.

Also, exoskeleton, is made up of chitin fibers which restricts its functioning.
