• Gender identity formation refers to the complex processes through which young children come to incorporate their sex and gender into their behavior, attitudes, and self-understanding. This includes the development of an inner sense of one’s femaleness or maleness, the acquisition of knowledge about cultural expectations for women and men, and the development of attitudes, interests, and behavior that reflect these expectations.
• Some males,could feel like feminine male,and may show in that clothing or even behavioural characteristics like showing sensitivity through crying etc. Some females,may feel like a masculine female,and try to show characteristics of males like playing sports such as wrestling,or even physically fighting in school etc.
• A gender which is in line is also assigned with stereotypical roles of being a male or female.Both boys and girls are brought up differently.Boys are groomed to become physically stronger,to not be sensitive and cry,to be breadwinner of the family and be an alpha male,in contrast,girls are brought up to be homemakers,to care of family and children,be sensitive etc.This leads to a gender identity which is stereotypical and creates discriminatory behaviour towards women treating them inferior and weak by men.
