Answer #1

Answer:-

The GI system has its own nervous system the entric nervous system neurogastroentrology is a Study of the entreric nervous system (ENS), a sub division of autonomic nervous system (ANS) that directly controls the Gastrointestinal system.

Tge ENS is capable of autonomus functions such as cordination of reflexes.

The ENS consists of some 1000 million neurons , one thousandth of the number of neurons in the brain.

The ENS is embeded in the lining of Gastrointestinal system.

●GANGLIA OF THE ENS.

The neurons of the ENS are collected into two types of ganglia.

1.The myenteric plexus located between inner and outer layer of the muscularis externa.

2.The sub mucosal plexus located in the sub mucosa.

●FUNCTION AND STRUCTURE OF ENS.

The ENS system has been desribed as a second brain. It normally communicate with central nervous system through the parasymphatic and symphatic vagus nerve.

The ENS includes efferent neurons , affarent neurons, and interneurons , all of which make the ENS capable of carrying reflexes and acting as an interigating center in the absence of control nervous system ( CNS) input.
