Question 1 : A tap root system has a single main root that grows down. A fibrous root system forms a dense network of roots that is closer to the soil surface.
The large primary root in tap root system can reach deep into the soil for water and store food, adaptations which help them to survive drought and seasonal variations in temperature and sunlight.A fibrous root is a collection of short, threadlike divisions whose increased surface area facilitates absorption of water and mineral ions. Fiber length and horizontal spread vary according to the species’ environment and competition. Whereas taproots can grow as deep as 60 meters, fibrous roots are generally much shorter and more numerous.
An example of a tap root system is a carrot. Grasses such as wheat, rice, and corn are examples of fibrous root systems.
Fibrous root systems are found in monocots; tap root systems are found in dicots.

Question 2 : The endodermis is a single layer of cells that borders the cortex of a root. The endodermis in the root hair zone has casparian strips made of subrin. This forces the water and minerals taken in at the root to move through the living cells on the way to the vascular bundle.

Question 3 : Rootlets is one of plant's living components (a small or fine branch of a root) that enable a plant to cling to rocks or other supports in order to anchor the plant. They differ from root hair which gather moisture and nutrient for the plant to use above ground. Root hairs are filamentous extension of an epidermal cell near the tip of a root (rootlet) that functions in absorption of water and minerals.
