Cancer can be defined as uncontrolled cell growth because of the mutation that occurs in cell cycle or cell signalling pathway .

Molecular biology helps to identify the key molecules that are responsible for the cancer developemnent. The techniques include genomics and proteomics which helps to understand the causal muated gene and the proteins or genes that are upregulated or downregulate during cancer

For example mutations in cancer cells can be identified once the DNA gets amplified by polymerase chain reaction techniques and than by sequencing and also ELISA , and other cell viability assays helps to identify the cancer developement.
