Question 47.

Answer- Properties of water-

  • Excellent solvent
  • High dielectric constant
  • High specific heat
  • The high heat of vaporization

Water is a polar molecule. Water is made of two oxygen and one hydrogen molecule. Oxygen is slightly electronegative and pulls an electron from hydrogen towards itself, resulting in a slightly positive charge on hydrogen and negative change on oxygen, and this results in intramolecular hydrogen bonding in water.
