Can I have more information of Burkholderia thailandensis. I'm interested how specifically respond to oxidative stress, thank you!
Burkholderia thailandensis is a gram-negative bacteria usually found in soil. Disturbance of free radicals and peroxide inside the cell. It may lead to DNA damage and even cell death. The rising resistance of bacteria to various antibiotics and oxidative stress has become a serious concern to the scientists.
Meiru Si et al. 2017, discuss the role of a protein export machinery called Type VI Secretion System (T6SS) as a tool to provide resistance against oxidative stress in Burkholderia thailandensis
Here is the link for the article - http://www.pnas.org/content/114/11/E2233
According to them T6SS - 4 is induced by a conserved oxidative regulator OxyR, which is activated under oxidative stress conditions. Uptake of Mn2+ helps to cope up oxidative stress, which is maintained by tseM and mnoT genes. These genes are also activated by OxyR when Burkholderia thailandensis is under oxidative stress.
Multiple Antibiotic Resistance Regulators (MARRs) is another set of proteins involved in the regulation of Oxidative stress genes.
Organic hydroperoxide reductase (ohr) has been cloned from Burkholderia thailandensis and have been shown to mediate oxidative stress regulating mechanisms to help bacteria survive in hostile condition.
These proteins help in catalyzing the peroxides and free radicals with the help of transition metals, which bring a conformational change in the structure of these proteins to catalyse the reaction for the degradation of the free radicals from the bacterial cell.
A very related species Burkholderia pseudomallei sigma factors such as RPoS is known to enhance the activity of OxyR, which regulates the oxidative stress control mechanism.

Suppose you are interested in estimating how health affects
productivity. Specifically, you are interested in the following
regression:
where Yi is a variable representing the income earned by person
i, and Xi is a variable representing the health of person i.
Income is a fairly straightforward concept to capture. Health,
however, is a more complex concept that can be measured in many
different ways. For example, body mass index (BMI - weight in
kilograms, divided by height in meters squared)...

Hi! I'm very confused with this and I think I'm on the right
track with how to solve this question, but I'm really lost
Can you please right out how you did this with a small
explanation. Also please circle your answers.
Thank you all

I'm wondering if there is a place where I can find up-to-date information regarding ethical hacking with Ruby. I do find lot of Python information, which is OK, but I have 4 years of experience coding Ruby for DevOps/Sysadmin/networking related scripts. I'd like to learn more of Information Security, and will rather code my own penetration test tools using a language I'm more familiar with. If there's no other option I can dig into Python, but before I make that...
A developmental psychologist is interested in how one's Attention System changes during adolescence Specifically, the psychologist is interested in the ability of adolescent's to divide their attention among two or more tasks (o g. to multi-task). To assess the changes in attention during adolescence, the researcher randomly selects a cohort of (n. 11) individuals at the onset of puberty (o.g. years since puberty) At this time, the researcher measures how long (in seconds) the adolescents can successfully divide their attention...
QUESTION 1 A developmental psychologist is interested in how one's Attention System changes during adolescence. Specifically, the psychologist is interested in the ability of adolescent's to divide their attention among two or more tasks (e.g. to multi-task). To assess the changes in attention during adolescence, the researcher randomly selects a cohort of (n = 11) individuals at the onset of puberty (e.g. 0 years since puberty). At this time, the researcher measures how long (in seconds) the adolescents can successfully...
I want to be clear that I'm not interested on just the correct awnser (I have the key), I am having trouble understanding the logic to which the awnsers were derived from. Please explain why it is the correct awnser. Thank you in adnvance. A researcher finds two genes controlling flower color (W and R) that are 40 cM apart fromeach other on the same chromosome. They epistatically interact such that the flower color of W-R- is Red, W-rr is...
I have a assignment that I'm having trouble with, I have to create a program that will accept an integer and convert it to binary. I must use an array in the program to build the binary number. Thank you in advance :)
