Answer #1

1. Bulk density is simply the total mass of material divided by the total volume. Specific gravity is the ratio of the solids density to the density of water, where solids density is the total dry (solids) mass divided the volume of the solids. Hence bulk density has units like g/cc, kg/m3, but specific gravity has no units.

2. Absorption capacity is the amount of moisture that can be absorbed by the material when it is kept in water for 24 hours period.

3. Saturated surface dry condition is the state of aggregates when the aggregates are fully saturated in volume inside but there is no extra water sticking to the surface.

4.Damp condition is when aggregates are wet. There can be moisture even on the surface also.

What determines the lattice dimensions of minerals? How about their density (specific gravity) resistance to compression (bulk modulus), and melting temperature? Useful inferences can be made using simple relations that describe our understanding of ionic bonding. which is the exchange of one or more electrons between atoms, forming compounds (minerals) composed of positively charged cations and negatively charged anions The attractive force between oppositely charged ions is given by Couldomb's law. The attractive force Fa between the positively and negatively...
