the solid is transferred to the weighing heaker while the beaker is on the bench and not the balance. what is the advantage of weighing in this manner rather than measuring into the beaker while the beaker sits on the balance?

The advantage of weighing in this manner rather than measuring into the beaker while the beaker sits on the balance is we can avoid spilling compounds on balance, sometimes solids will be more corrosive to metal balance and also balance will fluctuate very quickly due to addition of solid compound. It is always good practice to add compounds outside balance to avoid any accidental combinations. Suppose someone already spilled oxidizing substance inside balance box and now if you spill any combustible substance inside the balance then there is a possibility of hazard.
