Answer #1

Correct answer here is b, c and e.

B. Caspases become activated during apoptosis by phosphorylation. The caspases are controlled by phosporylation. A variety of Kinase enzymes regulate different types of Caspases to cause cell apoptosis.

C. Caspases exist as inactive pro-caspases in healthy cells. Zymogens are the inactive forms of pro caspases. The caspases are always produce in the pro caspases form only. Later they are activated by various factors.

E. Caspases become activated during apoptosis by binding to Bax. High pH promote the activation of Bax and help it to bind to the caspases to induce caspase activation. This mediates the release of cytochrome C from mitochondria.

A. Caspases are produced during apoptosis and not during necrosis.

D. Caspases are released from various parts of the cell nucleus, cytosol and mitochondria etc and not only from the mitochondria. Thus these two option are wrong.

Thank you. Please do provide a Thumbs up.
