Question

1. Write a part program to mill the step shown in the next figure. The tool material is HSS. The work material is aluminum. The maximum spindle power is 1 hp. The tool, a flat bottom end mill, will have 4 teeth, a diameter of 0.5 in and a flute 0.75 in long. The (0,0,0) reference point will be point A in the figure. The depth of cut will be 0.030 in (same as the step width). Use the optimum feed and speed from the Table 4.2 given in class Power Point slides. Also, use a width of cut that will not exceed the available spindle power (Use Table 4.3 given in class Power Point slides). Cut with flood coolant on. Make sure your path back home (and any tool path) does not crash the tool against the workpiece. Make sure to turn your spindle on before rapid traverse to process start and after returning back home. 2 Hint: First determine optimum speed and feed and a suitable width of cut. Then write all key tool positions to generate the step. This is your process plan. Then write the g-code. This is your rogram 1 in 0.03 in 4 in 4 in

    10. Write a one-page summary of the attached paper? INTRODUCTION Many problems can develop in activated sludge operation that adversely affect effluent quality with origins in the engineering, hydraulic and microbiological components of the process. The real "heart" of the activated sludge system is the development and maintenance of a mixed microbial culture (activated sludge) that treats wastewater and which can be managed. One definition of a wastewater treatment plant operator is a "bug farmer", one who controls the aeration...
