Answer #1

Q. No. 17 answer :

Patient weight 22 lbs.

1 lb = 0.454 kg.

So 22 lbs = 22 × 0.454

= 9. 988 kgs

So patient weight is 9.988 kgs.

Q. No. 18. Answer :

The medication should be administered 0.1 mg per kg, Iv, 6 th hourly,

So for 9.988 kgs means we need to give 9.988 × 0.1 = 0.9988 mg.

Here if morphine available 10 mg per 1 ml, means,

1 mg = 0.1 ml.

0.1 mg = 0.01 ml.

So after diluting it with 7 ml of normal saline,

So if patient weight is 0.9988 mg means, we need to multiply with 0.01 ml so we will get value of ml.

0.9988 × 0.01 ml = 0.009988 ml should be drawn.

Q. No. 19. Answer :

The available medicine is 10 mg per 1 ml,

So if we need to dailute in 7 ml means add 6 ml of 0.9 % normal saline so that 6 + 1 = 7 ml diluted medicine may available.

Q. No. 20. Answer :

Formula = total volume devided by time in minutes multiplied with drop factor.

7 ml/ 5 × 15 = 21 drops per minute should be keep.
