Ans: Option 1. Bulb 1 will get brighter and bulb 3 will get dimmer.

Case 1. When the switch is open.

Total Resistance = R + R = 2R

Current = V/2R (though both the bulb)

Case 2.

when the switch is closed.

Total resistance = R + R/2 = 3R/2

Current throght bulb 1 = 2V/3R

Current through bulb 2 and bulb 3 would be equally distributed, which would be V/3R.

So, Current through 1 is increasing from V/2R to 2V/3R.

and Current through bulb 3 is decreasing from V/2R to V/3R.
