Answer #1

Family is the smallest unit of social institution which provides its member a social identity such as religion, caste, race, social class, ethnicity etc. Some of these social identities provide enormous advantages to the individual throughout their life. Whereas, other face many problems, because their identity is considered and treated as lower class or inferior in the social hierarchy.

These difference creates social inequality in the society as families pass on their caste, religion, class, race and wealth to their children. and because there is major wealth difference between the families, the superior family in the society helps maintaining the existing inequality. family is also Responsible for social inequality on the basis of gender( between men and women), as men in the family go out to work and make money and females stay in home, this created enforcing superiority of men on women since centuries ago.
