Answer #1

Solution) Resistance R = (rho)(L)/(A)

So from the above formula Resistance depends on resistivity (rho) , Length (L) and area (A) or thickness .

So it is not affected by potential difference .

POTENTIAL DIFFERENCE ACROSS THE CONDUCTING MATERIAL is the factor that do not affect resistance of a conductor .

    2. Leakage Resistance of a Coax Cable The leakage resistivity of a coax cable's insulation is measured as follows. A known potential difference V is applied across the two conductors in a length L of the cable; the leakage current I that flows between them (through the insulation) is measured; and the resistivity is calculated from the voltage and current. The inner conductor has radius a and the outer conductor has inner radius b. The insulator fills the space between...

Learning Goal: Examine the dependence of resistivity and resistance of a wire on temperature and how it affects the potential difference across the terminals of the wire. Introduction: A current of 65 milli-amperes (mA) flows through a wire of length L= 1.7 meters long and diameter of d= 1.15 millimeters at a temperature of T0= 20 °C; the wire's resistivity at this temperature is ρ0= 5.33×10−8 Ω ∙ m.
