Widgetco, Inc. has been highly successful over the past several years in making widgets. As the company has grown, new people, new computers, new everything has been put in place. One of the key challenges has been trying to ensure that everyone is paid correctly, performance evaluations are done in a timely fashion, and human resource metrics are captured in such a way as to frame efforts at retention and minimization of employee turn-over. Widgetco, Inc. is great at making widgets, but as the company has grown, hasn’t been so great about taking care of employees.

They are bringing you in as a consultant to recommend a Human Resource Information System (HRIS) as a computer platform to help them work with their employees better. Your job is to note what they are deficient at (as identified above) and then find a system through your research on the Internet that might best meet their needs that is easy to use, low-cost, and lets them focus on making widgets, but taking care of people too!

Any company as it grows, it needs to take care of its employees as well to be more successful. Because, a company's success depends on its employees, and when employees are happy and contended, they will put in their best efforts help the company grow. So, for employees to be happy and contended, first thing that any organization has to do is to give them their pay checks on time. Since everything revolves around money, employees who work relentlessly for the organization should be awarded for their contributions to the work and success of the organization.

Widgetco, Inc. is one such company which is highly successful in the market, but it is not that successful in employee satisfaction levels. That could be because of the unorganized human resources management. As the human resources grow, it will be literally impossible to keep manual records of all the employees. Hence, there comes the role of HRIS.

An HRIS enables the HR department to spend less time on clerical tasks, helps ensure the accuracy of employee data and can enable employees to take a greater role in the management of their information. It also helps HR managers in making employee master data or organizational changes becomes more efficient and uses less time than with paper-based requests.

Apart from the above, HRIS can secure information so that it can only be accessed by the individuals that need to have access to it. So, security feature in accessing important information by only few concerned, and not by all is a safety feature of HRIS. Using HRIS will also lead to increases in efficiency when it comes to making decisions in HR. HRIS can play a critical role in enabling compliance and acts as a means of gaining insight into the workforce.

In conclusion, it is important to choose the right HRIS. A company that takes the time to invest in a HRIS that fits their goals, objectives, mission, and values, is a company that is investing in its future and in its success. It will be necessary to customize any HRIS to the unique needs of a company so the system will remain flexible and relevant throughout the life of the company or enterprise. Widgetco,Inc should be able be invest in the best HRIS to ensure that employees are taken care off, and if a company takes care of its employees, its business is automatically taken care by the employees.
