Option a is wrong as any substance that is dissolved in the salvia cannotbe used for olfactory purpose as they cannot reach the olfactory receptors. So they wonts stimulate the olfactory receotors

Option b is correct as the volatile chemical substances that are dissolved in air are the reason for the production of stimulation and sensory impulse in the olfactory receptors. This olfactory receptor are specifically situated in the upper part of our human nasal passages and this volatile chemical will react with the receptor and cause the formation of a generator potential .

Option c is wrong as vibrating of the air cannot be identified by the olfactoryreceptors and this is not the stimuli for the olfaction . So vibration of ait has no effect in olfaction

Option d is wrong as mechanical stimulus has no effect on the olfactory system andit will bit respond to mechanical stimuli. So it will not cause olfactory impulse
