If O_2 from the air comes in contact with hot lead sulfide, it is possible that the sulfide will be oxidized to PbO. The most common mineral containing lead is a sulfide which is identical with the sulfide you prepared. In the extraction of lead from this mineral, the sulfide is first heated in a limited supply of air to give lead(II)oxide, PbO; the sulfur is converted into gaseous 〖SO〗_2. The PbO is then reduced by carbon to give metallic lead and carbon monoxide. Write balanced equations for these reactions.

Please explain step by step.
