- part A 0.35g of Hydrogen chloride (Hel) is dissolved in water to make 7.5 L son what is the pH of the resulting Ha soin → AMolarity of soin (M): 0.001279 moles = Now Mel is a strong acid, which means that it dissociates completely in aqueous soon t-part 3 - 0.35g of sodium Hydroxide (Maoth) an dissolved in water to make 4SL Solution What is the pH of this solution ? - Źwe know - 5 [01] = 0.001944 As we know that POH = -log[ot] → pol E-log (0.001944) → poH = 2.3113 Therefore, = 2.7113 A - pH +

For calculation of pH , molarity of solutions is to be find out , molarit of HCl solution is 0.001279 mole in 7.5 liter ,

And molarity of NaOH solution is 0.001944 mole in 4.5 liter.

For acidic solution ( HCl),we can use the relation

PH = - log ( H3O)+

For basic solution (NaOH ) , we can use the relation

P OH = - log (OH)-

And pH + p OH = 14

From this we calculated the pH of both solutions

For HCl , pH = 2.88

For NaOH , pH = 11.288
