Answer #1

Solution:

Satrting Mass of CaCO3

= 48.6380 g - 48.3650g

= 0.273 g

Mass of CaCl2 obatined

= 48.6640 g - 48.3650 g

= 0.299 g

Mole ratio of CaCO3 to CaCl2
  • No. of moles of  CaCO3 = 0.273 g/ 100 (g/mole)

= 0.00273 mole

  • No. of moles of  CaCl2 = 0.299 g/ 111 (g/mole)

= 0.00269 mole

Mole ratio CaCO3 to CaCl2 = 0.00273 / 0.00269

= 1.0

List of possible source of error in this experiment
  • would have been unprecise measurements in the recorded data of CaCO3 and CaCl2.
  • Incomlete evaporation.
