Acetyl chloride can react with water, in acidic, basic or neutral medium to form acetic acid as a major product. The carbonyl carbon is highly elctrophillic in nature due to electronegative chlorine attached to it.

Acetyl chloride on reaction with ethanol forms ethyl acetate as major product. Here, ethanol act as nucleophile while acetyl chloride act as electrophile in nature

On similar lines acetyl chloride react with cyclohexanol to form cyclohexyl acetate as major product.

Acetyl chloride does not react with sodium chloride.

Acetyl chloride react with isopropyl amine in presence oof triethyl amine (cat) to form the given amide. Triethyl amine is used to trap the HCl generated in the reaction.
