Truncated proteins are prematurely terminated during synthesis. This premature termination is caused by mutation of a sense codon to a termination codon.

In a DNA the 5' to 3' strand is called the sense strand. This strand is not used as a template during transcription. On the other hand, the 3' to 5' strand is called the template strand l. This strand is used as a template in RNA synthesis.

In the question, the DNA sequence for the protein is given in 3' to 5' pattern (3' - ATG - 5'). That means this strand is the template strand which is used as a template for mRNA synthesis (transcription).

3' - ATG - 5' in the coding strand will code 5' - UAC - 3' in the mRNA. 5' - UAC - 3' will code the tyrosine amino acid after translation.

Hence, option 'B' is the correct answer.
