Answer : Pentose phosphate pathway.

The pentose phosphate pathway is a metabolic pathway parallel to glycolysis. There are two distant pases in the pathway, the first is the oxidative phase, in which NADPH is generatedand the seconfd is the non oxidative synthesis of 5 - carbon sugars. The results of this pathway include:
1. Generation of reducing equivalents in the form of NADPH, used in reductive biosynthesis reactions within cells.
2. Production of erythrose 4-phosphate used in the synthesis of aromatic amino acids.
3.Production of ribose 5-phophate used in the synthesis of nucleotides and nucleic acids.
