1. Starts with glycolysis - Lactate fermentation and Alcoholic fermentation

Glycolysis occurs in the cytoplasm of all living organisms. This process produces pyruvate. Pyruvate is produced both in yeast (where it is subject to alcoholic fermentation) and in muscle cells (where it is subject to lactate fermentation to produce lactate).
