African Serval cats locate their prey by their strong sense of
hearing. They kill small prey by stalking it slowly, then pounce on
it with the forefeet directed toward the chest, and finally land on
it with its forelegs outstretched. The prey, receiving a blow from
one or both of the serval's forepaws, is incapacitated, and the
serval gives it a bite on the head or the neck and immediately
swallows it.
When a female serval enters into her oestrus, the rate of
urine-marking increases in her as well as the males in her
vicinity.
She would roam restlessly, spray urine frequently holding her
vibrating tail in a vertical manner, rub her head near the place
she has marked, salivate continuously, give out sharp and short
"miaow"s that can be heard for quite a distance, and rub her mouth
and cheeks against the face of an approaching male.
Consider the overall form of the body. How does the form of African serval cats fit...

Consider the controversy around genetically modified organisms. How does industrial biotechnology fit into the discussions about GMOs in past units? Compare the two, looking at the benefits and risks of each. What are the environmental benefits of industrial biotechnology?
There can be misconceptions out there about carbohydrates and how they function in the body. Now that you've learned a little more about carbohydrates and how they are used and stored by the body, you should have a better understanding of how to choose carbohydrate sources that will provide you with energy, stable glucose levels, and promote overall health. What suggestions would you offer to a client who reports the following. Include in your response why you are recommending what...

Select all that apply. ► View Available Hint(s) Amino acids are used to create new proteins. If you ingest more protein than your body needs, the protein is stored in muscle. The liver uses amino acids to create glucose. If calorie intake is inadequate, amino acids can be used for production of energy In this activity,...
1. Consider a dilute solution of molecules at fixed temperature T. These molecules have access to a surface that has a total of B binding sites where molecules can bind. To count states in this system, we will divide space into small cells that each can hold a single molecule. There are a total of B cells that have a binding site, and a total of M cells that do not have binding sites. The overall number of cells is...
