After the food is swallowed (Cephalic Phase foodstimulus) which results in stimulation of secretory activities of Stomach (which makes Gastrin to be relased but the effect iof this is Gastric Phase).

Gastrin is Release in 2 phases

1. During Gastric Phase (initiated during Cephalic Phase).
2. Intestinal phase (at Duodenum)

The stomach is distended which results in Stretch receptors being activated. The following are three main activities that result in Secretory function of Stomach to be stimulated.

1. Vagus and Enteric Nerves are stimulated by Vagovagal refelxes which are controlled by Medulla
2. Local reflexes result (churning).
3. Chemical and flavours in the food and raising of the pH due to HCl acid which resluts in Gastric gland cells releases Gastrin into stomach released through blood.

Once the pH level of the stomach is < pH 2 the release of Gastrin is stopped.
