Urbanization, increased modernization and deforestation is causing statistically significant increase in the average temperature and if you see average temperature of United States has increased significantly in last some years and which is making extreme heat in coming future. Frequency of heat wave has increased several folds as compared to last decade. Several universities are working day and night on this issue for last decades as global temperature rise and heat waves including several states in US. Southeast including Atlanta is considered as high-risk zone in due to ridge and extremely high pressure in this zone.
More than 60% of the southeast cities showing higher heat waves as compared to rest of the cities of the country. In year 2018, maximum fatalities were found due to heat followed by other conditions like flood and tornado in southeast. The average temperature is more than 100 F during summer (in May and even sometimes more than this also).
