The forms of the social interactions that are theoretically possible are- spite and reciprocity that are either absent or nearly so in non-human animals in spite of the considerable research efforts on a broad diversity of species.

Certainly, spite and reciprocity evolved in humans because of adaptable demands among the unrelated organisms on cooperation that live in large groups, and the integrative capacities of future-oriented decision-making, inhibitory control, and inequity detection.

The prediction about the genetic spite being rare was based on a belief that social animals:

• Does not find themselves regularly in a negative relatedness situation.
• Generally, lack the necessary mechanism of fine-grained kin recognition.
• Usually involves the actions that have significant costs as opposed to little or no cost according to the demand of the theory.

There are many other ways provided other than spite that increases the relative fitness of the organism, thus the costs of spite is rarely favoured. Even if the selection favours spite and reciprocity, the mechanisms that are necessary to support the social interactions are generally absent in non-animal humans.
