CHORDATE REVIEW QUESTIONS:
1. Four deprived traits of chordates that appear at some point in their life cycle:-
I. A notochord
II. A dorsal hollow nerve chord

2. Cephalochordata and Urochordata are invertebrates chordates . They are still considered chordates because they share the following features with chordates : a notochord, pharyngeal slits, a dorsal hollow nerve chord at some time in their lives.
3. Hagfishes and lamprey lacks hinged jaws.
4. Chondr means cartilage.
5. Dermal denticles are modified form of teeth (covered with hard enamel) that cover the skin of rays and sharks

8. If blood passes through the heart only once in a complete cycle of the circulatory system, then it is referred as single circulation. If the blood passes through the heart twice in a complete cycle of the circulatory system , then it is referred as double circulation.
Fish have single circulation circuit.
9. Except crocodiles, all reptiles have three chambered heart.
10. Amniotic egg - It's a type of egg in which embryo develop inside an amnion. Reptiles, birds and egg laying mammals are amniotes.
11. Reptile scales are made from epidermis while fish scales are made from dermis.
12. Similarity : Both reptiles and mammals have a common body plan. They share the following characteristics of similar body plan: sophisticated nerves system, bilateral symmetry, well development sense organs , complex internal skeleton and reproductive and excretory system. Also, most of the mammals and reptiles fertilizes internally.
Difference : lower jaws of reptiles consists of multiple bones unlike mammals , whose lower jaws consists of single bone.
Mammals have fours chambered heart , reptiles have three chambered heart.
13. Endothermic - most of the body heat in internally generated.
Exothermic - most of the body heat is derieve from environment.
14. Three types of mammals :
I. Monotremes- they lay eggs.
II. Marsupial - they give birth of not fully developed tiny babies.
III. Placental mammal - baby develops inside the mother until its body can function on its own.
