Imagine a tree is found that has a "heart" that contracts to pump water through the xylem instead of relying on transpiration to move water

Where in the tree would you expect the "heart" to be located? Explain why.

The heart would be located in the 'roots' of the tree because the roots take water up to the leaves while the sugars produced by the leaves are brought back down to the roots.
