Answer--eEF2 catalyzes reverse translocation of the eukaryotic ribosome.This method required requires a t-RNA in the ribosomal E-site and can not occur without eEF2 .Besides eEF2 induces relocation of the eukaryotic ribosomal post complex.eEF2 is a member of the G protein family ,which undergoes conformational change . Phosphorylation of eEF2 inhibits it's activity by preventing it from binding to ribosome ,thus inhibiting protein synthesis.its also a biochemical sensor couples neuronal transmission to spine plasticity.
